She is most famous for her role as Willie Scott, an American nightclub singer and performer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), which was directed by her eventual husband Steven Spielberg. Capshaw is a portrait artist who has been displayed in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw, was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), an agent for beauty and travel along with Edwin Leon Nail, an employee of the airline. At the age of five, she was years old when she relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw graduated from the University of Missouri in education. She was also a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a teacher of special education at Southern Boone High School, Ashland, Missouri, as well as Rock Bridge High School, Columbia, Missouri.
