Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was as Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. She is the second youngest winner in Oscar the history of Oscars. When she responded to a request for open auditions at age nine years old, with no acting experience before that the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's part. Flora was the daughter of an Scottish pianist who was mute. The couple moved from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to plan a wedding. In her teens, she moved into the United States. Paquin had a small part as the title character when she was a child as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as she was a leading character in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams from a television film adaptation of Carson McCullers' book The Member of the Wedding (1997). Paquin was a part of the supporting cast in Princess of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
